Areas of Interest

Members of the Restoration Ecology Working Group are largely interested in studying the processes of succession on  various human-disturbed and post-mining sites (especially quarries, sand and gravel pits, extracted peatlands, dumps from coal mining, wasteponds, etc.), restoration of meadows on abandoned arable land, restoration of degraded secondary grasslands and also restoration of near-natural composition of commercial forests, not only from the botanical poin of view. Results of the research are published in prestigious scientific journals. The group also aims to disseminate the ideas of restoration ecology to the public and practitioners and to positively influence the national policy and the creation of particular laws and regulations.
